We have to be bold.

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” – Norman Vincent Peale

My vision for the future of Iu Mien Studies is one of growth, innovation, and collaboration.  I believe that through our dedicated efforts, we as a community can transform the way the world understands and engages with us.  Let’s make it happen.  A virtual hub, a physical location to gather and collaborate, libraries and classrooms in remote villages of Southeast Asia and China for our people created by our people. I envision a platform where we can share OUR stories in OUR voices.

My mission for the future Center for Iu Mien Studies (CIMS) is to become the premier institution that leads and excels in the pursuit of knowledge in Iu Mien Studies. I envision a world where the rich cultural heritage and experiences of the Iu Mien people are celebrated, understood, and appreciated.  CIMS strives to be the go-to hub for anything related to the Mien language, culture and history, connecting people from all over the world who share a passion for this field.  I believe that by fostering a community of passionate scholars and advocates, we can create change. Join me in this exciting journey of discovery and transformation.
